30 Years professional Photography C.B.

Passion, experience and technique – these are the pillars on which Fotografie C.B. was founded. For more than three decades now, the name Christian Beeck has stood for professional sports photography, moving wedding images and technically perfect results both at events and in studio.

Even as a twelve year old, Christian Beeck’s passion for photography had already blossomed. Pocket money, cash earned for odd jobs on the farm and even his confirmation money all went straight into acquiring photographic equipment. And with his first semi-professional camera, a Canon AE-1 Program, the amateur photographer was soon capturing family occasions with no little skill. Following an apprenticeship as an electrician, Christian resolved to go his own way. A graduate of the Hamburg School of Photography, he has since worked as an independent photographer across half of Europe, running his own photographic studio. Now 50, he is also heavily in demand with photography schools. Be it high in the sky, in deep water or on terra firma, whether it‘s a job requiring lots of action or endless patience, no perspective is too complicated, no situation too difficult and no effort too great to be captured by Christian‘s masterful technique.

It has long been engrained in Christian Beeck that photography is more than a profession: it’s a calling. With wife Kirsten and their three children he has travelled since 1994 with a Konica colour development lab to major sporting events. The mountain bike tour through the Alps, the Four Hills Tournament, the bobsleigh world championships in Innsbruck, tennis in Munich, showjumping World Cups in Monaco and Aachen, the Surf World Cup on the island of Sylt, and handball in Kiel are just some of the highlights in Christian and Kirsten Beeck’s calendar over the past decade. Fuelled by the famous Kieler Woche sailing event in his home town in Northern Germany, sailing has become more and more at the centre of Christian‘s work since the nineties. His expert knowledge has shown its worth not only in his press work at particular events, but equally at exhibitions and promotions for brands such as Fuji, Konica and Kodak.

The opening of a photographic laboratory and studio in Kiel brought with it new avenues for Christian‘s talent, with a focus on photography at corporate events and receptions, industrial, product and portrait photography, and weddings. Showcasing images by processing them in a wide range of formats onto the most diverse materials is part of the offering of Fotografie C.B. In this way Christian Beeck’s work finds expression as collages, calendars, exhibition displays, in photo albums as well as in newspapers and magazines. And the work does not go unrecognised: at the worldwide Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image 2016 photographic competition Christian Beeck was the sole German photographer to make it into the Top 20 with his photograph of a Musto Skiff sailer. Not only was the photo exhibited at the annual World Sailing Association conference, it was also included in the public vote for best sailing shot of 2016. With his online shop at segel-bilder.de, reit-bilder.de or fotografie-cb.de a new world of opportunity has opened up.

Continuous learning and technical improvement are a given at Fotografie C.B.. New technology is forever unearthing new areas of activity – be it with mobile flash units, drones or 360 degree photography.
